already missing 2008

I don't think I'll ever get used to writing the year as '09. Actually I was not looking forward to the last year's countdown that much, mainly because I know how I will miss it. So many things had happened during the last year I might even say I had the best time of my life. Now that 2009 has come and began its days, we can only start counting up. Counting the days up till.. What? I don't know exactly! But I guess we'll see..

Loads of stuff happened around the end of the year. Then, it was the New Year's. Zojoji temple was packed like a sardine can. I think we were there with half the city of Tokyo to celebrate the countdown. After that my winter holidays passed without very little happening, though we did have some fun walking around and tiring ourselves out in Kawagoe. I did a lot of hanging around all over, relaxing and watching movies at home, teaching English, celebrating Ayu's birthday and meeting up with my old landlord. I've also been learning more Indonesian than ever as I help Yoichiro prepare for his test next week. Everyone seemed to be crazy about the new year sales, but no shopping for me this year; I'd already got enough taste of the fukubukuro during my first year.

I am a little under the weather at the moment. Too much junk food got my throat all sore. I have been spending the whole of yesterday and today recuperating at home, overdosing my digestive system with royal jelly honey, vitamin C, a couple of the B's and nine sorts of amino acids. School starts again tomorrow, and it's just my luck to have to do a final presentation on the first day back. In friggin' CHINESE! Yep, just my luck. Just pray that I don't cough and sniff all the way through presenting our research on language education theories in overseas Chinese families.
