birthday surprise

After planning a couple of birthday surprises for other members, and with one's birthday coming up, one cannot help from thinking that hmm, one might also get one soon.

But those devious kids, no matter how I attempted to get them to talk, for several days I was really left with the impression that they weren't going to do anything for my birthday. They might be sick of surprises, I thought. Craftily, those kids managed to keep this whole surprise a secret to Unta, and the part of my surprise a secret to me; all the while telling me a different plan of Unta's surprise to be carried out on Halloween night, to trick me into walking into my own trap!

Imagine my surprise on the eve of my birthday, when I went over to the appointed place to execute what had been planned, finding everything not looking like the plan was going according to plan at all. EVERYBODY (including Unta) already there, with balloons and decorations, throwing ME the surprise! Confused and totally surprised, I blew my candles, ate the cake and soto, and hung out with the best of the best. The whole Indonesian gang with Yoichiro and Naoki.



But the feeling only began to sink in when I really turned 22 years old by Japan standard time. After receiving birthday messages on my phone, and opening presents.. Siska suddenly handed me a very little birthday card. Nice, I thought to myself. Inside was only a seven letter XTONG.ME.

http://xtong.me was A WEBSITE they made for me! With A VIDEO! And TESTIMONIALS from the people I love! (T__T) Again, I was lost for words, but this time it was not from utter confusion. I was deeply impressed by what they had done. If I was more of a tearshredder, I would have cried a bucketful.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone for their birthday wishes for me, from wherever they are; Shyne, Frank, Dong Hyun and Yoichiro for their contribution in xtong.me and the video; and the birthday presents, from near and across oceans. Without Dempo and Yoichiro I'd be so mugless and hankie-less. I'd have to live on without the cool red shirt, coconut lamp and Jimmy wallet from P'Bua, Pong and Siska. I'd like to mention again, Unta, Sherwin, Dita, Steve, Ayu, Alvin, Siska, Cindy, Jenna and Dandy; you guys did a great job, the double surprise you guys pulled off was no ordinary accomplishment, and the website was really touching. Alright, guys! Keep those photo comments rolling~
