gobusata ご無沙汰

Xtong
has left Beijing, enjoyed a three week (working) vacation in Surabaya, and is now back in Tokyo! Actually I have been back for a while now, it was more than a month ago that I once again set my foot (and forty something kilograms of baggage) on this land of the rising sun. Special thanks I would like to mention for Unta and Siska who picked me up from Narita! As eventful as my life has been, these past weeks have gone by with considerable excitement and drama.

First of all, the sudden increase in Indonesian students in SILS has turned what used to be little harmonious gatherings into crazy epic parties with facebook comment wars that follow. Our Yamanote Hike, both Sherwin's and Wulung's birthdays were simply a blast. For a change, I would consider it to be a nice change. Even after graduating from SILS, Unta, who chose to enroll in GSAPS is still assigned as ruling chief of an extended circle of the SILS and GSAPS Indonesian community.

An incident yesterday at the Mos Burger near campus left me traumatic, maybe sharing it here may tone down my unease. As I drank down my milk tea, a young guy who just finished ordering at the counter slipped and fell down, hitting the soft back of his head hard on the steel corner back of my chair. I stood up and picked his hat up for him, he began to have major (and loud, and scary) convulsions on the floor; blood, foam and all, all over the floor under where I had been sitting. I remained standing there looking into his eyes, not knowing what to even think or do. The scene got everyone standing up and one of the girls almost crying. After (what seemed like the longest) four panicky minutes, the ambulance and firetruck came.

Following all the chaos and commotion, the atmosphere returned to normal but I was still pretty shaken up. My friend then started telling me funny stories about gay guys who repeatedly tried to pick him up in Chinatown, and after a free hot drink, I felt somewhat better. I still do feel very bad about what happened and hope the guy is fine by now. I also think I would never want to be a doctor, and Mos Burger
should always keep that floor dry from now on!

Anyway, what else might be happening in my life and what might be in vogue right not? When I'm not walking around under the sunshine, I'm cursing the cold and unpredictable Tokyo rain. And when I'm not solving the ever-fascinating Rubik's Cube under four minutes, I'm job-hunting and always prettying up my resume! Yes, believe it or not... I've been practicing for interviews, in hopes of getting a good position at one of the big companies. At Sakura House, when I'm not singing to Siska's Karaoke DVD, I'd be chatting to Isaac and Grace, researching for schoolwork, or playing with my Samsung television phone. Some days I'd be watching movies with my besties at the new Piccadilly Cinema, teaching English conversation, arranging meetings with new friends, old friends; and all the time, plotting my new plans for the near future.

So, off I go now, to have a meeting with my group members for our class presentation! Will write more soon~
