北京 - city of smells
Arrived here by night of the 28th - after waking up (too early) to a surprise visit and the best going-away gift from Siska, praying in front of A Gong's shrine, giving Papa his birthday presents and cake, having yet another sweater stuffed in my bag by A Po, saying goodbye to sleepy old Crazy, and sleeping through both flights (the little monitors in our whole row couldn't work) - we got into Beijing Friendship Hotel, which should have been Beijing Bau Apek Hotel! It was too old to be a four-star hotel, and I thought 500 yuan was too much for such shitto foul smelling rooms. (and no breakfast)
So, surprisingly, after sleeping a whole day on the plane, I could still sleep for most of the night, and waste a couple of hours mbangkong in the morning; after which we went to check Kutu into her dorm in 北京语言大学会议中心, and mine, in 北京外国语大学国交楼. With time to kill, the three of us headed out to Wangfujing and walked around a little until pretty late, and went back to the shitto hotel room. We spent our second day shopping for stuff we need in the dorm at Lotus, and while my mum and sis stay in BLCU, I spent my first night in my room with the TV and Internet as company. Then, it was my class placement test and medical check-up day on the 31st, and also the day our beloved Crazy in Surabaya died. (which I only heard of yesterday)
First day of the new month, Yanita, Kutu, mum and I went to IKEA to look around; Shyne had also gotten settled in Beijing, so we met up at 五道口, then she visited my room afterwards. On Sunday night, mum went back to Surabaya, and I got my placement results on Monday. (I'm in E1!) Today was orientation day, and there was never an announcement when classes start, so I went to the orientation, only to find out the others went to class in the morning! Yup, I skipped my first ever class already - sounds right, eh.. The orientation took too long, and was filled with iranai speeches that I eighty percent of the attendants don't even understand.
Now I'd just got home from a Peking duck dinner with my sis and her friends from Tsinghua, after which we went to visit their new apartment and hung out a while. Gotta sleep soon, and must be ready to face (my) first classes tomorrow~
